What do you wear to a fashion blogger event? The question of all questions that haunted me for weeks after I was invited to the Fashionchick Redesign Party. Getting dressed in the morning is an easy task – I just go with my guts. What makes me feel most comfortable, what makes me feel like the best version of myself? I usually just pick one item from my wardrobe that reflects my mood the best and then go from there. Getting dressed the way I do can, however, result in quite unconventional, not necessarily appropriate outfits for special occasions, like dinners or parties or even work. I’m no stranger to wearing trainers to a dinner date or ripped jeans in the office…whatever makes me feel good in my own skin.
So what do you wear when you finally have the chance to meet a bunch of incredibly talented fashion bloggers and industry professionals, who will all be scrutinizing each other’s outfits? Exactly, you just go with your guts and wear whatever you feel most confident in. For me, that’s definitely my white Zara blazer at the moment. I love the boyfriend cut, I love the colour, I love how chic it makes me feel. From there it was only a small step to the ever so stylish pantsuit. I decided to stick with the colour scheme of the blazer and opted for off-white trousers from Zara.
The choice of shoes was an easy one – I just picked the one pair of closed toe heels currently in my possession – also from Zara. Only the top caused me quite a headache. After much deliberation and changing, I finally I decided to choose a simple black vest showing some, but not too much skin and a delicate golden chocker from Topshop to accessorize my neck – simple and clean with a contemporary twist, just the way I like it.
