It’s that time of the year again. The days are finally getting longer, the sun is coming out more and more often, temperatures are slowly but steadily crawling their way back above the 0°C mark, and birds are chirping off the roofs. Spring is in the air. Finally!
The weeks just after Christmas are always the bleakest. The wonderful Christmas time is over, the days are dark and cold, and we don’t even get proper snow anymore…not like back in the day when it used to snow so heavily travelling by sleigh was totally normal (at least when you were lucky enough to be a 5-year-old). For the past few years, the winter months (except December of course) just haven’t been as magical as they used to be when I was a kid.
But I love the magic…it makes me happy and hopeful! And I think I have finally found it again. What else could possibly make me shun my all black uniform and hop into a much more cheerful ensemble? It must be the magic of impending springtime! And indeed, the sun in Berlin is practically daring us to embrace a playfully romantic and pastel coloured wardrobe.
So this is me looking playful and romantic in my very own minimalistic kind of way – in winter whites and the statement piece of the season, the camel coat. This look does make me wonder, though. How far will I step out of my comfort zone next season to embrace more girly trends like floral prints and dusky pinks? Watch this space!
