Now that Christmas is officially over, you’re well rested, and a new year is about to start it’s time to give a thought or two to how you’re going to conclude 2014 in style – if you haven’t so already.
What better way to celebrate the end of a great year and the beginning of an even greater one, than by slipping into your most comfy party shoes, popping a bottle of bubbly and dancing the night away with your best friends? Granted, not everyone feels the need to ring in the New Year with a big bang, but this is no problem for the nifty fashionista, who’s prepared for every situation.
Whether you opt for a relaxed dinner with friends, a house party or club night; there are a number of ways to look the part both in a restaurant as well as a nightclub, or to stay classy but comfy at home without having three totally different looks at the ready.
One of my go-to pieces this winter has been this fabulous Lavish Alice jumpsuit. It’s proven a super versatile item of clothing that is not only crazy comfy, but can easily be worn casually, formally and as the main showstopper in a party look. The combination between the tight top with cut-out details and the straight, wide-legged bottom creates the perfect balance between sexy and cool that will make you look classy and timeless in any situation.
Worn with an opulent faux fur jacket, classic black heels, some bling bling and a red pout the jumpsuit turns into the perfect party piece for a wild night out. Throw on a white blazer and opt for subtle jewellery (like in this post) to create a look that is still super festive, but formal enough for a fancy dinner, or swap the heels for a pair of ballerinas and the necklace for a sparkly jumper (like this one from Warehouse), and you’ve created yourself a comfy yet New Year’s Eve-appropriate house party look. It really couldn’t be any simpler than that.
