Look The Part: Interview Dress Code

Look The Part: Interview Dress Code

We’ve all been there, men and women alike: the first interview for our dream job and the subsequent search for the perfect interview outfit. It should neither be too casual nor too formal, smart but relaxed, not too flashy but sophisticated….oh boy…what a daunting exercise. And if finding the perfect look wasn’t hard enough, we also have to make sure that we bring the right accessories to the actual interview (pen and paper at the ready everybody!), and don’t forget to switch off our phones. Phew…so many things to remember, right?

Because it can be incredibly easy to forget the little things, especially when you are nervous, Farfetch.com and I have joined forces to make sure that you won’t. Farfetch.com “is a global community of over 300 visionary fashion boutiques offering an inspirational shopping experience to fashion-forward consumers.” These independent fashion boutiques from all over the world were specifically selected for their diversity, fashion-forward thinking, and unique style, and, although united through Farfetch, deliver directly from their individual boutiques to your house.

So in order to take the stress out of interview dressing, the lovely people from Farfetch had the amazing idea to create this exceptionally useful infographic for me to share with you. It is a guide to interview dress codes for men and women, across both traditional and creative industries, and is only the beginning of my upcoming workwear series. I hope you enjoy it, and please feel free to share your own interview tips in the comment section below.
