A few weeks ago Fashionchick.co.uk, a social shopping site for fashion-conscious girls, asked all UK bloggers to participate in their fabulous #fashionchickVIP blogger competition in celebration of their site redesign and first blogger party in London in partnership with the amazing blogger platform Creators of Desire. The two lucky winners of the competition were promised the ultimate VIP treatment at the party as well as a brilliant VIP goodie bag filled with incredible gifts from their own shoe collection, House of Fraser, Boohoo.com, Reiss, River Island, Monica Vinader and Black.co.uk.
Now isn’t that something? Not only would the winner be able to attend a fantastic blogger meet-up, but also receive a plethora of super fantastic prizes.
Needles to say, I wanted to win this…no I HAD to win this. And you know what, Ladies and Gentlemen? I actually did manage to win this competition and become one of the two winners to receive all the amazingness above. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I read the e-mail. It was the first blogger competition I participated in, and I won!! I’m still walking on clouds…the feeling is incredible and I’m so happy I participated…and not only because I got some banging prizes.
As soon as I found out I was one of the winners, I couldn’t wait for the big day to arrive. I was so excited to finally meet the lovely ladies from Fashionchick, many talented bloggers and some fashion industry professionals from River Island, House of Fraser, Boohoo.com and Reiss. On arrival at the event (It took place at The Fable, a bar and restaurant on Holborn Viaduct), I instantly made friends with the gorgeous Gabriele, founder and editor of Gabriele Gzimailaite, who was kind enough to share her beautiful event pictures with me, as I hardly took any myself (I guess I was a little too busy shaking hands ;)).
And then my first ever blogger event took its course. It was such a fun night full of networking, incredible food and amazing goodies. I met some talented new faces like Charlotte from lurchhoundloves – the second winner of the competition – and Bibi from Bibi Goes Chic, some familiar faces I had yet to meet in person, like Minnie from Minnie Knows and Christina from Chrissabella, and one very special face I was so excited to meet that I made a complete fool out of myself when I finally got to talk to her – Camilla from Into The Fold, who, despite her young age, has not only an incredible sense of style, but also manages to truly captivate me with her intelligent writing. It’s safe to say, she’s definitely one of my favourite fashion bloggers out there, and you should all check out her blog. You’ll love her just as much as I do, promise!
I think that’s enough reading for today. Stay tuned for tomorrow’s article if you fancy a closer look at the brands involved and the amazing food served…I promise, there will be a lot more pictures for you to enjoy.
Thank you for reading,
