The only thing I regret about this duster coat is not buying it any earlier. In fact, I regret not buying any duster coat earlier. I always imagined their oversized slouchiness would drown my petite stature. I had tried on many trench coats before, and every single one of them looked a little unflattering around my narrow shoulders and wide thighs. Me and trench coats? Not a love story!
I just assumed I’d feel exactly the same way about duster coats. But then I saw my fellow shortie and beautiful blogger friend Lily, editor of #byLily, in this amazing Zara number. I mean look at her! She looks absolutely stunning in that coat. The colour may be a little too daring for my monochrome taste, but the cut is perfect.
Once I saw Lily in her new duster coat I knew I wouldn’t be happy again until I found my own perfect duster…preferably a black one. So I went on the hunt, but soon realised that even ASOS duster coats were surprisingly expensive. You can get a proper winter coat for the same price! Or am I just too picky, and closed my eyes to the cheaper models?
I any case, when in sartorial despair trust the Zara sale to pick you up. And there it was in Zara’s online store: the duster coat of my sweetest dreams at a fraction of the original price. Now that I finally got my hands on a duster coat I can’t imagine a life without it. It’s so versatile, and the cut is actually incredibly flattering. I’m in love!
