About one and a half weeks ago I was kindly invited to the exclusive launch party of the Disaronno limited edition bottle designed by Versace. Isn’t that so exciting? For those of you, who haven’t heard of Disaronno yet, it is an Italian liqueur flavoured with herbs and fruits soaked in apricot kernel oil.
I hadn’t tried it before – I hardly ever drink alcohol, and when I do it’s usually white wine or cider – but I was incredibly excited to see the new bottle design, and have my first nip of Disaronno. Following the success of last year’s limited edition bottle in collaboration with Moschino, I was sure that this year’s bottle design wouldn’t disappoint either. And it didn’t.
The Disaronno wears Versace design is inspired by the Versace Home Collection and features an ocean blue bottle embellished with antique golden ornaments, seashells and corals – Poseidon would be proud. It combines the traditional shape of the Disaronno bottle with the decadence of Versace’s designs to create a unique collectible for the discerned fashion lover.
Part of the proceeds from the project goes to the Fashion 4 Development initiative, which supports women working in the fashion industry in developing countries. I smell Christmas gift…don’t you?
Matching the new bottle design, Disaronno created the “Versace Sour”, a Disaronno Sour with Blue Curacao and leaf gold that was expertly mixed and served by bartenders from The Ritz, while music was provided by the Ooh La La Dj Collective. It was a really fun night with great drinks, catchy music and really really tasty canapés.
