I’m in a rut – a makeup rut, to be precise. But hey, why fix something that ain’t broken, right? It may be a bit boring to go for the same products every single day, but it also saves a lot of time in the morning. As I haven’t done a proper makeup post in a while now, I thought I’d share my daily makeup routine with you, and show you which products are so good, I don’t feel the need to use anything else on my face.
Even though I do own a fantastic primer, I usually just skip the primer stage and go straight in with my Diorskin Nude BB Cream in No. 02. It is lightweight, dewy, evens out the skin tone perfectly and comes with an SPF of 10. I then cover up my dark under-eye circles with the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in Cool Medium, and set my base with the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Dim Light. For more eyebrows I use the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Whiz in Dark Brunette and the Miss Sporty Clear Clear mascara to keep them as neat as possible throughout the day.
Eyeshadow-wise I’m rather unadventurous. After priming my lids with the Urban Decay eyeshadow primer potion, I first dust the champagne-shade of the Nars At First Sight palette all over my lids, and then slightly define my upper and lower lash lines and my sockets with the brown shade. I then apply my Lancôme Hypnôse Mascara in Noir, and move on to my cheeks. I first sculpt them a little with Nars Laguna, then put a hint of Nars Deep Throat on the apple of my cheeks – both from the Nars At First Sight palette, and then highlight the high points of my face (cheekbones, bridge of my nose, chin, forehead) with the highlighter of the Sleek Face Contour Kit in Fair.
My lip colour is probably the only exciting part of my makeup routine, as it’s the only thing that changes everyday depending on the occasion, my mood and my outfit. In this case I decided to keep my lips simple and use a Lancôme L’Absolu Rouge lipstick in Rose Nu 06.
