Last reminder, promise! I’m one of the two finalists in the Fashionchic.co.uk #FCFindyourlook competition. If you like my look and want to send me to Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Amsterdam in July, please vote for me here. Many thanks to all voters :-*
One of the best things about being a fashion blogger is that you get to meet many like-minded people, who all enjoy fashion just as much you do, and totally understand that you can’t start eating, before you haven’t snapped at least 100 pictures of your meal. One of those lovely people is Christina, founder and editor of Chrissabella. We first met virtually on Instagram and then in person a few weeks later at the Fashionchick Redesign Party. When I spotted her, I just went over and said Hi, and even though we didn’t get to talk much, we kept in contact and now finally met for brunch at Bill’s Restaurant in Covent Garden for a proper catch-up.
Both of us decided to go for the blueberry pancakes with maple syrup, bananas and strawberries and topped it off with a portion of cinnamon donuts with warm chocolate sauce and fresh strawberries – all very yummy and fulfilling. I just wish the pancakes had been a little bigger. I’m so obsessed with pancakes at the moment, they can never be big enough. While we demolished all our sweet treats we mainly talked about blogging, life in London and everything else in between.
We had such a lovely time at Bill’s. The restaurant may be quite big, with seating split over two floors, but it still felt cozy and quaint. I’ll definitely be back for more another time. The menu just looks too delicious and prices are incredibly reasonable.
Happy and full, we then went on a hunt for the perfect backdrop to shoot our outfits. Christina opted for an edgy monochrome look with red accents, leather-look leggings and the most enviable Zara bag. It reminds me a bit of the Chanel Boy Bag and is truly drool-worthy. You can find all the outfit details on her blog.
When I got dressed in the morning, I realised that I hadn’t worn my black skinny jeans in ages. I have about four of these…all the same, all from Miss Selfridge, but every time I wore skinnies, in the past few months, I’ve always opted for their denim sisters. So on Sunday, I decided to go black on the bottom and white on the top. The Zara top is such a pretty, flowing number, perfect for a chilled Sunday. Even though my ankle is still quite dodgy, I managed to find wedges in the Aldo sale that are insanely comfortable and give good support. I’ve never actually owned tan shoes before, but I’m quite happy with these. They’re incredibly easy to style. The Zara blazer is really old, but such a unique beauty, and the Armani sunglasses* and the River Island clutch are new purchases I’ve been really obsessed with lately. And of course I couldn’t pass up on the opportunity to wear my Monica Vinader bracelet* again. It’s so delicate and beautiful and goes with any outfit.
